February Already

Whoa. I feel like time is flying lately! It's probably because the beginning of the year is always so busy; getting back into the swing of things after the holidays and all. My doctor appointments are every two weeks now, freaks me out a bit. This pregnancy has flown by, I'm not quite sure I'm ready for March to be so close. But I'm reminded daily about how far along I am, thanks to the heartburn after every snack or meal, the constant need to pee every time I finally get into a good sleep. Good times, good times.
The weather last week was crazy, on Thursday we woke up to 6 degree weather. Yeah, not so typical for southern Arizona. In fact, it was pretty freaking crazy. A lot of water pipes froze, luckily not ours, and the gas company shut off gas to almost half the city because the high demand was straining the pipeline. We weren't part of the shut off, but Mercy's school was closed on Friday because they were worried about the pipes and students not being able to make it in. I was hoping the kids would take the opportunity to sleep in but no such luck. Booo.
Porter had his endocrinologist appointment last week and it went surprisingly well. They looked at his blood levels and while the specific levels tied to CAH are high, they're not as high as they typically would be with "full blown" CAH. They're going to do more blood work so that they know for sure, but right now they're thinking that he's a carrier for CAH but doesn't actually have CAH, just some of the signs of it. Does that make any sense? I'll admit, I'm confused by it, but they said that they're pretty sure he doesn't have CAH, so I'm pleased for now. Still cautious, but happy.
Mercy's been a cookie selling fool-- wait, that's probably more on my part than hers. Gotta say, I really don't enjoy this for the most part. The exercise is fine, but I wish we knew enough people in the city to sell her 250 boxes within days and then we wouldn't have to go sell door to door. Booths aren't bad, the girls have fun for the most part. Plus I get to hang out with some fun moms while we're out there. But I'm ready to be done with this already, I'm just a bad Girl Scout mom.
